What are the benefits of becoming a monthly donor
Our monthly donors are outspoken advocates and bold champions of our mission and vision. By providing a reliable source of funding to sustain our work, you enable us to dedicate more of our time educational programs, advocacy efforts, and support programs. Monthly donors will receive quarterly updates about Down with Dystonia activities, notifications about all new programs and events, and action alerts for urgent news about the organization or advocacy opportunities.
If I make a monthly donation, will I be able to suspend it or change that amount?
Yes, you can update your monthly donation at any time. When you establish a monthly donation, you receive an email to set-up your donor account at Donorbox. Once you’ve established that account, you can login at any time to suspend the donation, change the amount, or change the frequency of the donation.
Is my donation tax-deductible?
Down with Dystonia is a designated 501(c)(3) organization. Our non-profit tax identification number is 46-1319824. Donations to Down with Dystonia are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by state and federal laws.
Will I get a receipt?
Yes. All donations received online receive an automatic acknowledgement letter stating that you’ve made a tax-deductible donation to Down with Dystonia. This will be sent to the email address you provided with your donation. If you mail a check or money order, your tax-deductible donation acknowledgement will come to the address provided with your donation. You should receive the acknowledgement approximately one week after we receive the donation. You will also receive a thank you letter from Down with Dystonia. The thank you letter does not contain tax-deduction information.
Is my online donation secure?
Down with Dystonia selected Donorbox as our provider for processing online donations. One of the reasons we selected this company was their commitment to the safety and security of donor data. Donorbox uses four components to protect your data:
- SSL/TLS Encryption – the online giving checkout form is fully encrypted to secure your data
- Tokenization of Financial Data – Donorbox does not store your credit card information. It develops a token that provides permission for monthly giving.
- Fraud Detection – they have developed Radar, and anti-fraud program to protect online giving programs and monthly giving campaigns against fraud
- Strong Customer Authentication – Donorbox complies with the Strong Customer Authentication regulations in Europe. This helps reduce fraud and increase security for many online transactions.
