Down with Dystonia is thrilled to announce our 2nd annual FunDrive Gala! It is our pleasure to invite you, your family and friends to join us in an inspirational and educational experience on December 15, 2019 at 6PM held at the Automobile Driving Museum.
Down with Dystonia is a comprehensive, nonprofit organization seeking to promote awareness of dystonia – a painful movement disorder affecting over 300,000 children and adults in North America alone. Today, there is no cure. We are here to make an impact.
There are many varieties of dystonia which are characterized by prolonged muscle contractions that may cause involuntary and repetitive movements. This can result in twisted postures that can be uncomfortable and extremely painful. The symptoms usually begin in one body region, such as the neck, face, jaw, limbs, eyes, vocal cords and may then spread to other areas of the body. In rare cases, such as our Founder, people develop oromandibular dystonia which may cause severe verbal communication difficulties.

About the Founder
Devin McClernan was diagnosed with dystonia at the age of thirteen. For more than twenty years, his extraordinary journey has provided him insight on how he can use his experiences and talents to cultivate a better quality of life for those afflicted with the third most common movement disorder. His dedication to founding and growing Down with Dystonia comes with an intense desire to better the lives of others with this affliction through his experience and willingness to gain and share knowledge on a subject still so misunderstood.

We are a small non-profit organization with a set of lofty goals. Our biggest challenge is bringing awareness to the general population that those with Dystonia, a relatively unknown and extremely debilitating movement disorder, can live a productive and fulfilling life. We will accomplish this mission via ground breaking videos, social media awareness campaigns and other initiatives. It all starts with our family, friends and concentric circles.
